How Much Does Pinterest Marketing Cost?

The answer to this question totally depends on the type of Pinterest marketing service you need. So let’s start there. Here are the different types of services we’ve seen:

Account Setup

This service is usually a one-time fee and would typically include setting up your initial boards with good board names and descriptions, adding x number of pins to each board, setting up group boards that you control, becoming a contributor on a few other relevant group boards.

Pricing for this service can range from $300 – $1,000

Content Creation

Not all content/images would be great for Pinterest. So, Pinterest marketing companies will sometimes offer to help you create content that will do well on Pinterest so you can get the most exposure as possible. This service could be simple in some cases and more involved in others. Here are three ways that this is typically done:

  • Consult with the client on what images/content they already have that will do well on Pinterest
  • Take existing client content and tweak it to do well on Pinterest (most common)
  • Come up with and create brand new content from scratch

The price range for this service, which is usually a one-time fee, is about $200 – $1,500.

Account Management

This could mean, depending on the company you’re talking to, managing one or all of the following items for your personal or business Pinterest account:

  • from setting up boards
  • doing regular pinning of your content
  • pinning other relevant content
  • increasing followers
  • getting your account as a contributor on other group boards
  • starting and managing group boards that your account will control

We’ve seen prices for this service ranging from $300 – $1,000/month.

Content Promotion

This service can vary in that it can mean getting as many pins as possible of one piece of content or many pieces of content in a given month. The cost on this can also depend on the number of pins you want for each specific piece of content. Content promotion can be a one-time thing or can be something that you pay for each month depending on your needs and budget.

Prices for this service tend to fall between $300 and $2,000 (again, depending on the number of content pieces and how many pins you are shooting for).

Pinterest Marketing Consulting

A consultant would be advising you on what to do in all of these areas above. Pricing for consulting tends to be all over the board because there are so many levels of consulting. Monthly retainers generally run from $250 – $5,000 per month. In-house training and workshops can be from $1,000 – $10,000 depending on how long the workshop/training is as well as how in depth it is.
